G.Wilson (Fibres) Ltd
G. Wilson (Fibres) Ltd is owned and operated by the Wilson family. It is centrally located just off the A1 at the companies base manufacturing plant in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
With over 45 years experience within the re-cycling of textile fibres, George Wilson offers extensive knowledge to the industry and the businesses it supports.
George Wilson started work as a Sample Room Boy in a Rag Merchants in Dewsbury. The company sorted old woollen rags into various colours and qualities, which were then sold to shoddy manufacturers who processed them into a quality where the re-cycled wool fibres could be spun once again into yarn.
For several years, before starting his own firm, George worked for a large organisation where he travelled extensively buying and selling re-cycled fibres. It was here he started living in Europe extending his knowledge including to speak 3 fluent foreign languages. To this day he is still in contact with companies he came to know during this time, so he hasa wealth of knowledge on where to buy suitable fibres for his felt application.
Since starting his own business 30 years ago the Wilson Family has developed a plant that can re-cycle most textile fibres. Within the UK it is almost unique in its diversity and with this in mind he decided to start manufacturing carpet underlay felt, an extension to his already successful fibre recycling business.
